Fall 2016, Jiemyjoyce Reduque was selected to attend this conference. She later describes her experience as follows:
During fall of 2016, I had the opportunity to attend FHSLP (Frances Hesselbein Student Leadership Program) and be the only student from Washington out of 14 students chosen nationwide. I made deep relationship with the other 13 students who attended with me and I still currently communicate with them. The cliche part of this experience was that it was life changing, I grew more as a leader and a person. During the trip, we attended several workshops and had the opportunity to meet Ms. Hesselbein herself, at the time she was almost 101 years old. We also ate a meal with the cadets at West Point Military Academy and was able to sit in one of their classes. The tour of the academy was absolutely breathtaking, the libraries, buildings, and everything in between were amazing. It's difficult to explain the experience I had at West Point, but it was life altering.
